Lindsey has been one of my muses since the very beginning. We did a super cool Bonnie and Clyde themed editorial with her partner in cinematic craft. We sent a couple hours in my old wood paneled attic exploring strangely lit natural portraits. My heart about BURST when she asked me to be her wedding photographer.
When Liv and Brian reached out to have me be their wedding photographer, I about died. Partially, because MIAMI but mostly because they are artists. Everything was stunning and they inspired me to be creative. For their ceremony and reception, they fused a rustic style with a tropical setting at Miami Central Park. The day was full of real emotion and I found myself singing songs along side them during their ceremony.
Sometimes, waking up at 4:00am is SO WORTH IT. For their anniversary photo session, Jasmine and Will met us out in Joshua Tree, CA (aka: a photographer playground) for some amazing pictures. The sunrise was incredible, BUT the sun rises fast in the desert. Shade is hard to come by, and shade is a photographer's best friend. We drove aimlessly for a few minutes (the best way to find new photo spots), and found a cave of boulders. After exploring the rocky area, we decided to experiment in the sun. Barker Dam trail was the only spot I knew of where we could find a giant reflector for the sun... the reservoir. So we hiked in for some shots that played with high contrast.
When Maria and Kristen asked me to be their wedding photographer, I wasn't sure that I could book so far out into 2019. At the time, I was pregnant with Stella and imagining work/family balance was hard. But, they cared about me equally as a person and as a professional. They encouraged my work, and embraced my family. When they asked if I could do a destination engagement session on Mackinac Island, I was excited because 1. GORGEOUS people in gorgeous places and 2. the family could come. In fact, right before this session, we all had dinner together. Maria and Kristen played with my girls and connected with my husband. I felt so loved. I really think that came to play in their engagement pictures. I felt comfortable asking them to get in the water and play. I think that they felt comfortable with me and let me see their real smiles. The images we created are full of real intimacy and joy. I'm so glad I know them.
